Very Pleased with Their Work

"Teachers was terrific! The three guys were thoughtful and courteous, agile as spider monkeys in the trees, and closely coordinated with headsets throughout the process. Their cuts for the view were artful and they felled a large dead tree next to a power line and patio with precision. We are very pleased with their work and will call again. Highly recommended!"

Why You Might Need Tree Removal

From storm damage and disease to safety concerns and property improvements, there are many reasons homeowners need professional tree removal:

Dead tree with bare, leafless branches standing alone in an open field

Dead or Dying Trees

Trees in decline become hazardous as they lose structural integrity. Dead ash affected by emerald ash borer are especially common and can fail without warning.

Large tree limb broken and fallen onto a residential lawn after storm damage

Storm Damage

Vermont's ice storms and high winds can leave trees with split trunks, broken crowns, or compromised root systems. A tree damaged beyond repair creates an immediate hazard that needs professional attention.

Tree growing in close proximity to overhead utility lines posing a property safety concern

Property Safety Concerns

Trees leaning toward structures, growing too close to power lines, or developing cracks and splits pose ongoing risks. If you're worried every time the wind picks up, it's time for an arborist assessment.

Disease or Pest Infestations

Some tree diseases and pest infestations spread rapidly to neighboring trees. When treatment isn't effective or feasible, removing the affected tree protects the rest of your landscape.

Crowding and Competition

Trees planted too close together compete for sunlight, water, and nutrients. Strategic removal allows remaining trees to develop properly and improves your property's overall canopy health.

How Teachers Removes Trees Safely

Teachers Tree Service doesn't take a one-size-fits-all approach to tree removal. We match the method to each unique situation, prioritizing safety for our crew, your property, and everyone nearby.

  • Climbing and Rigging

Our ISA Certified Arborist climbers can safely dismantle trees in tight spaces where equipment can't access. Using specialized rigging techniques, we carefully lower sections piece by piece, protecting surrounding structures, fences, and landscape features.

  • Specialized Equipment

Depending on the tree's size, location, and condition, we have the equipment to handle it safely:

    • Bucket Trucks: Our multiple bucket trucks provide efficient access for straightforward removals with good clearance.
    • Tracked Lift: Help us access trees on slopes, rough terrain, or areas where standard bucket trucks can't operate, minimizing impact on your property.
    • Remote-Controlled Grapple Saw: When a tree is too dangerous for even our experienced climbers — particularly dead ash trees that have lost all structural integrity — we use remote-controlled equipment operated safely from the ground.
    • Crane: For large trees or removals near buildings and power lines, we use a crane to lift sections safely over structures, reducing the risk of damage to your property.

Our Tree Removal Process

We follow a straightforward approach that prioritizes safety, transparency, and thorough communication at every step. Here’s what to expect after you book a consultation:

  • On-Site Assessment

One of our ISA Certified Arborists visits your property to evaluate the tree's condition, location, and any access challenges. We identify potential hazards, discuss your concerns, and determine the safest removal method.

  • Detailed Proposal

We provide a comprehensive written proposal outlining our removal approach, equipment needed, cleanup level, and timeline. Our proposals are clear and detailed, so you know exactly what to expect.

  • Scheduling

Once you approve the proposal, we work with you to schedule the removal at a convenient time. We communicate clearly about any schedule adjustments due to weather or equipment availability.

  • Safe Removal

Our crew arrives prepared with the equipment and expertise to remove your tree efficiently while following industry safety standards and TCIA accreditation requirements.

  • Complete Cleanup

We make sure to leave your property as we found it (if not better). Our chipper trucks, wheel loaders, and dump trailers make quick work of debris removal, and for larger jobs, we coordinate log truck pickup to haul away timber. You're left with a safe, clean property — ready to move forward.

What Happens to the Stump and Debris?

Tree removal generates significant debris. We offer several options so you can choose what works best for your property and budget:

  • Stump Grinding: After a tree is removed, the stump is cut close to the ground. If you’d like it fully removed, we offer stump grinding as part of the service, typically scheduled within two weeks.

  • Full Haul-Away (Most Common): We remove everything — branches, logs, and chips. Your property looks like nothing happened. This is what most customers choose for complete peace of mind.

  • Cut & Stack Firewood: We cut logs to 16-inch lengths and leave them on your property. As one client noted, it ends up being the most expensive firewood you'll ever buy, but some customers prefer this option.

  • Logs Left Onsite: We remove the tree and haul away all brush and debris, but leave uncut logs for you to process yourself or use for other purposes.

  • Minimal Cleanup (Drop & Leave): For customers managing costs or planning to process wood themselves, we can remove the tree and leave it where it falls with minimal cleanup.

  • Wood Chips: When we remove a tree, the resulting wood chips are typically hauled away. If you'd like to keep the chips for mulch or other uses on your property, just let us know.

I Can’t Speak Highly Enough of Their Work

"Teachers Tree Service has now done three separate jobs for me over the years. Every time they've done a fantastic job. This time, the three-member crew (Eric, Charles and Teague) had quite the challenge, as they were bringing down some very tall red pines, and I had asked them to protect (as best they could) the smaller pines and some maples that were interspersed among them. There was barely a scratch on most of the trees I had asked them to leave alone. In addition to being polite young men, they were quick and efficient. I can't speak highly enough of how pleased I am with their work. "
