Poor Soil Quality

By mimicking the nutrient and water cycles of forests and restoring biological partnerships, we can help your trees live long, healthy lives.

Deep root fertilization is a great way to improve the poor soils that we often find in lawns and gardens. Our deep root fertilizer is a balanced blend of macronutrients nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium directly to the tree or shrub roots via liquid injection into the tree’s root zone. It not only provides necessary nutrients, it improves the soil ecological community that supports the immune health of your tree or shrub, protecting it from problematic pests and diseases in the long-term.

Our fertilizer includes biochar and humic acid – contributors to healthy soil, structure, chemistry, and biology.  Biochar is a granular, carbon-rich substrate for water and nutrients in the soil.  It is very porous and has a high surface area that attracts and holds water and nutrient molecules available for uptake by plants and soil microbes. Biochar is produced by burning plant matter in a high heat, low-oxygen process called pyrolysis.

Humic acid is a naturally-occuring product of microbial breakdown of organic matter (dead plants and animals) in soil.  It increases soil aggregation and water retention, while also holding nutrients in forms available for trees.  Humic acid stimulates soil microbial activity and improves connections between plants and their underground allies.  It improves tree health by encouraging plants to absorb nutrients, increase photosynthesis, and boost enzyme activity.

Don’t know if fertilizer is needed?  We can help you by assessing the overall current health of your trees and shrubs, recommending whether fertilization and/or other treatments may be beneficial.
